Privacy Policy

The short version

Reasons I Love You collects only the information needed to let you sign in, create a love letter, and manage what you publish. Love letters and reasons are public by design. We do not sell your personal information.

Information we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive account information such as your name, email address, profile image, Google account identifier, and authentication information. We also store session information, which may include your IP address, browser or device details, and session timestamps.

When you create or update a page, we store the recipient name, author name, page address, introduction, reasons, optional timestamps, and the dates that content was created or changed.

If you opt in to writing reminders, we store your chosen frequency, timezone, delivery status, and unsubscribe preference.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate you, operate and secure the service, display the content you choose to publish, connect your account to your page, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and respond to support or privacy requests.

What is public

Your page address, recipient name, author name, introduction, reasons, and any timestamps you choose to show can be viewed and shared by anyone. Please do not publish private, sensitive, or confidential information about yourself or another person.

Cookies and authentication

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and protect your account. These cookies are required for account features. We do not currently use advertising cookies.

Service providers

We use service providers to operate the site, including Google for sign in, Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and delivery, and Resend for reminder email delivery and bounce or complaint handling. These providers may process information under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide their services to us.

Retention and deletion

We keep account and page information while your account or page remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward when needed for security, legal compliance, or backup recovery. You may request deletion of your account and associated content by emailing us. Some limited records may be retained when required by law or necessary to protect the service.

Your choices

You can edit or remove reasons from your writing page. Reminder emails are off unless you opt in. You can change their frequency or turn them off in account settings or through the links in any reminder email, without signing in. You can also ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us. We may need to verify that you own the account before completing a request.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including secure cookies and encrypted authentication tokens. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above will show when the latest version took effect. Material changes may also be communicated through the site when appropriate.
